Earning your Inheritance:

Image result for compromiseLet's imagine that you had a relative generations before you who made a fortune big enough to pass down billions of dollars to each following generation. But suppose this inheritance came with stipulations or regulations and that if you broke any of them you lost your inheritance and it was passed on to the next person in line. What if it was a billion dollars and all you had to do to keep it was follow 10 rules?? You could not get drunk. You could not gamble. You could not cheat on your spouse if you were to have one. You had to vow to care for your parents and not put them in nursing homes. You had to vow not to lie. Not to murder. You could not use curse words. You had to donate to charity once a year minimum. You could not become haughty and boastful. And lastly you had to find a way to honor the ancestor who left you that inheritance in some significant way during your life span. Would you be willing to carefully follow those rules in order to gain your billion dollars? Or would you give it all up because there were too many rules and you would be missing out on fun?!?!? How would you conduct yourself knowing that with every choice and every temptation your whole inheritance was on the line? If 2 drinks would get you drunk would it be sensible to walk away after 1?

The word says, 1Co 2:9  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

It speaks of inheritances in Num 26:54  To many thou shalt give the more inheritance, and to few thou shalt give the less inheritance: to every one shall his inheritance be given according to those that were numbered of him.

Psa 37:18  The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.

Value..............Taking anything for granted.

James 1:14-15But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Do you have an insatiable lust? Is what you have enough or are you always looking for more? More things, more people, more involvement, more money, more better, more, more more???? Have you found yourself unable to be content in which state you find yourself in? Paul said that he was able to be content in whatsoever state he found himself in. Whether it was with one shirt or five, whether it was with one disciple or 10, whether he had a roof overhead or what shipwrecked in the ocean.  He had found his way to be content.

Philippians 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I
am, therewith to be content.

1 Timothy 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Image result for want vs needWhen we are consistently searching for more we are trying to fill a void that should be filled by the Most High. It means that our focus and our emphasis in our life is not being directed towards the Most High. Anytime that the Most High has put someone in our life it is up to us to see their value. We must recognize that when we consistently demean their value and look for more (more people, more friends, more support from elsewhere) we take for granted the relationships that the Most High has put in our life.
Are you taking for granted the things that the Most High has blessed you with?
Do you have more than you need?
Do you know the difference between want and need?
 Do you?
Are you shipwrecked???
Don't allow the enemy to trick you into becoming ungrateful
because that's when you can lose everything!

2 Timothy 2:22“Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”
