Be a soldier

Soldiers expect and prepare for the worst. They discipline themselves to always be ready. Only when all the preparations are complete do they allow themselves a moment of relaxation.

The problem with the world today is relaxation is glorified. We set up our lives to maximize relaxation. Every gadget we buy and objective we pursue is to simplify our lives for more relaxation.

Soldiers do not live in this manner. The best are consistently focused on how or what they can do better. They know the enemy isn't going to take a day, week, or month off so they cannot either.

2 Timothy 2:4No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; becoming entangled in the world's business-,entangleth himself with secular businesses, in the affairs of everyday life, gets mixed up in civilian matters)that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

This war that we have joined is a spiritual one. Ment to be fought daily. How? Through the study of our Father and the ancient knowledge revealed to us: through the Holy Scriptures, prayer, fasting, and worship.

Psalms 55:22 - Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

1 Peter 5:7 - Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Isaiah 41:10 - Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Matthew 11:28 - Come unto me, all [ye] that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Philippians 4:6-7 - Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.   (Read More...)

He knows the struggle you are facing. The hardships in relationships, confusion of understanding others, struggle with that difficult person on your job, the bill that you just can't seem to pay, a sickness that you just can't overcome, Fear that you are trying to face.......

He is in charge of and sees EVERYTHING. Not just the things you bring to His attention, not just the things you don't see. There is a purpose, a rhyme a reason. Are you teachable? Are you looking for the lesson in the trials you are facing or are you focused on how it is making you feel? Are you being proactive or reactive?

1 Peter 5:6-7 - Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:   (Read More...)

James 1:2-4 - My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;   (Read More...)

John 16:33 - These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Philippians 4:7 - And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Psalms 62:8 - Trust in him at all times; [ye] people, pour out your heart before him: God [is] a refuge for us. Selah.

Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.

John 14:27 - Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Philippians 4:6 - Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

James 1:12 - Blessed [is] the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Soldiers understand Endurance. That is why they begin their journey with boot camp. Have you disciplined your mind, body, and soul to be an effective soldier for The Father? Have you learned to resist sin and its influences? Could you resist unto blood? Hebrews 12:4
Boot camp is where a natural solder begins their journey. Enduring 6 weeks of extreme training to see if you are cut out to join the fighting force. Can you endure extreme temperatures, hunger, thirst, pushing your body to its physical limits? To have a natural example of what kind of dedication the Father is hoping for let's look at what man expects from his natural recruits below.

 https://www.todaysmilitary.com/training/boot-camp
To succeed in boot camp, young adults should prepare themselves physically and mentally. Daily cardio, weight training, push-ups, and sit-ups are a must. They should also practice arriving early on a regular basis and sticking to a strict schedule. Finally, potential recruits should delegate personal affairs to family or friends so they can focus on their training. For example, they will need to figure out who will pay the bills, collect the mail and manage any bank accounts while they are at boot camp. Physical Fitness Requirements:

Constant in Prayer and Fasting

Let your prayers turn into worship. So many run to the Most High when things are not going well. Have you ever considered that he is allowing things to not go so well so that he will hear from you? The word encourages us to pray without ceasing. That would imply that our prayers have nothing to so with the circumstances that are occurring in our lives but rather are about communication with our creator.  Giving time, attention, and focus to the one who grants our breath.

Idolatry occurs when you put anything before The Most High. Even your crisis...

In the midst of the storm when the men who had walked with Christ thought they were going to die he didn't awaken and calm them down, He didn't try to hear their concerns, he didn't even ask what their thoughts on the how or whys of them being in this storm. He asked where is your Faith?  Luke 8:25

Proverbs 28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

When you pray you must have laid a foundation that will give you confidence that you are approaching the throne correctly and that your Father will hear you. Living in a manner that is pleasing unto The Most High.  Does your conscience convict you or excuse you?
1 John 1:9, John 8:29,1 Timothy 1:5 ,
Romans 2:15

Hebrews 10:22 - Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Constant in Prayer. Not allowing the cares or situations that you find yourself in to stop you from prayer. Allowing your prayer to become worship. Knowing He will carefully watch for you.
1 Peter 5:7

Luke 18:3And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. 4And he would not for a while: but afterward, he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 5Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. 6And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. 7And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

Jeremiah 33:3 - Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Isaiah 56:7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.

2 Corinthians 1:6 And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.

Nehemiah 4:9 Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them.

Psalms 88:2 Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry;

Psalms 109:4 For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.

Matthew 17:21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

2 Corinthians 9:14 And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.

 From KJV online commentary-
Philippians 1:4 Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, "Prayer may be oral or mental, occasional or constant," "ejaculatory or formal. It is a "beseeching the Lord" (Ex." "32:11); "pouring out the soul before the Lord" (1 Sam. 1:15);" "praying and crying to heaven (2 Chr. 32:20); "seeking unto God" "and making supplication" (Job 8:5); "drawing near to God" (Ps." "73:28); "bowing the knees" (Eph. 3:14)." "Prayer presupposes a belief in the personality of God, his "ability and willingness to hold intercourse with us, his" personal control of all things and of all his creatures and all their actions. "Acceptable prayer must be sincere (Heb. 10:22), offered with "reverence and godly fear, with a humble sense of our own" insignificance as creatures and of our own unworthiness as "sinners, with earnest importunity, and with unhesitating" submission to the divine will. Prayer must also be offered in "the faith that God is, and is the hearer and answerer of prayer," "and that he will fulfil his word, "Ask, and ye shall receive" "(Matt. 7:7, 8; 21:22; Mark 11:24; John 14:13, 14), and in the" "name of Christ (16:23, 24; 15:16; Eph. 2:18; 5:20; Col. 3:17; 1" Pet. 2:5). "Prayer is of different kinds, secret (Matt. 6:6)"Prayer is like the dove that Noah sent forth, which blessed him "not only when it returned with an olive-leaf in its mouth, but" "when it never returned at all.", Robinson's Job."

Feast of Dedication

This feast day was originated in the book of Maccabees. It was after the Greeks had taken and defiled the temple at Jerusalem.  The Maccabees led a revolt and regained control through the power and might of The Most High. This feast is a time of remembrance and celebration of defeat of the enemies of Yasharahla and the re-dedication and consecration of the temple to The Most High.

1 Maccabees 4 : 28 The next year therefore following Lysias gathered together threescore thousand choice men of foot, and five thousand horsemen, that he might subdue them.29 So they came into Idumea, and pitched their tents at Bethsura, and Judas met them with ten thousand men.

30 And when he saw that mighty army, he prayed and said, Blessed art thou, O Saviour of Israel, who didst quell the violence of the mighty man by the hand of thy servant David, and gavest the host of strangers into the hands of Jonathan the son of Saul, and his armourbearer;31 Shut up this army in the hand of thy people Israel, and let them be confounded in their power and horsemen:32 Make them to be of no courage, and cause the boldness of their strength to fall away, and let them quake at their destruction:33 Cast them down with the sword of them that love thee, and let all those that know thy name praise thee with thanksgiving.

34 So they joined battle; and there were slain of the host of Lysias about five thousand men, even before them were they slain.35 Now when Lysias saw his army put to flight, and the manliness of Judas' soldiers, and how they were ready either to live or die valiantly, he went into Antiochia, and gathered together a company of strangers, and having made his army greater than it was, he purposed to come again into Judea.

36Then said Judas and his brethren, Behold, our enemies are discomfited: let us go up to cleanse and dedicate the sanctuary.37 Upon this all the host assembled themselves together, and went up into mount Sion.38 And when they saw the sanctuary desolate, and the altar profaned, and the gates burned up, and shrubs growing in the courts as in a forest, or in one of the mountains, yea, and the priests' chambers pulled down;39 They rent their clothes, and made great lamentation, and cast ashes upon their heads,40 And fell down flat to the ground upon their faces, and blew an alarm with the trumpets, and cried toward heaven.41 Then Judas appointed certain men to fight against those that were in the fortress, until he had cleansed the sanctuary.42 So he chose priests of blameless conversation, such as had pleasure in the law:43 Who cleansed the sanctuary, and bare out the defiled stones into an unclean place.44 And when as they consulted what to do with the altar of burnt offerings, which was profaned;45 They thought it best to pull it down, lest it should be a reproach to them, because the heathen had defiled it: wherefore they pulled it down,46 And laid up the stones in the mountain of the temple in a convenient place, until there should come a prophet to shew what should be done with them.47 Then they took whole stones according to the law, and built a new altar according to the former;48 And made up the sanctuary, and the things that were within the temple, and hallowed the courts.49 They made also new holy vessels, and into the temple they brought the candlestick, and the altar of burnt offerings, and of incense, and the table.50 And upon the altar they burned incense, and the
lamps that were upon the candlestick they lighted, that they might give light in the temple.51 Furthermore they set the loaves upon the table, and spread out the veils, and finished all the works which they had begun to make.52 Now on the five and twentieth day of the ninth month, which is called the month Casleu, in the hundred forty and eighth year, they rose up betimes in the morning,53 And offered sacrifice according to the law upon the new altar of burnt offerings, which they had made.54 Look, at what time and what day the heathen had profaned it, even in that was it dedicated with songs, and citherns, and harps, and cymbals.55 Then all the people fell upon their faces, worshipping and praising the God of heaven, who had given them good success.56 And so they kept the dedication of the altar eight days and offered burnt offerings with gladness, and sacrificed the sacrifice of deliverance and praise.57 They decked also the forefront of the temple with crowns of gold, and with shields; and the gates and the chambers they renewed, and hanged doors upon them.58 Thus was there very great gladness among the people, for that the reproach of the heathen was put away.59 Moreover Judas and his brethren with the whole congregation of Israel ordained, that the days of the dedication of the altar should be kept in their season from year to year by the space of eight days, from the five and twentieth day of the month Casleu, with mirth and gladness.

According to the calendar laid out in Jubalees and Enoch The Feast of Dedication falls on December 1-8this year. This is the Feast that falls in the winter according to The Bible. When we learn that this is something that The messiah kept and that we are supposed to follow in his footsteps we see the importance of this remembrance. After his coming the temple was no longer an earthly one, but we now are his temple. This then becomes a time of year to dedicate ourselves to the service of the King and the Kingdom that is soon to come.

John 10:22“And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.”

1 Corinthians 11:1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.,1 Corinthians 4:16

Acts7:48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,49 Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?

1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Perfect peace

Philippians 4:6 - Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Galatians 5:16-26 - [This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. (Read More...) />

What is your conversation? That is what is in your heart. Christ
said we need to worry more about what is on the inside of our cup
(heart) then what is on the outside. Have you taught your heart and mind to focus on the words of The Most High or on the emotion of the moment? Muscle memory requires discipline to establish. You must in times of serenity establish a pattern of study and prayer so that in a time of crisis that is where you automatically turn.

Matthew 15:11 - Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

John 13:34-35 - A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another

Have you ever tried to stop someone from doing something that would injure themselves? It seems harsh and intense for the moment, but when your putting an-others welfare above your own it occasionally requires this.  Do you taste your words before you spit them out?  Correction is often necessary but will not be received if you offend the person you are trying to correct.

James 3:10 - Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

James 3:18“And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.”

Psalms 141:3 - Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

Job 6:24 Teach me, and I will hold my tongue: and cause me to understand wherein I have erred.

Proverbs 18:21 - Death and life [are] in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Words have power. A lack of understanding in the power of your words will cause you to use them without considering their impact. Listening to anothers words will teach about them and what they need. You can't be    talking and hearing at the same time.

Matthew 5:9 - Blessed [are] the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God
1 Peter 5:7 - Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 - Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord [be] with you all.

John 16:33 - These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

1 Peter 3:11 - Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

Romans 15:13 - Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Hebrews 12:14 - Follow peace with all [men], and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Psalms 4:8 - I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.

Baruch 3:13 For if thou hadst walked in the way of God, thou shouldest have dwelled in peace for ever.

Isaiah 12:2 - Behold, God [is] my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Most High [is] my strength and [my] song; he also is become my salvation.

Proverbs 13:3 - He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: [but] he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.

Isaiah 26:3 - Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee.

Isaiah 26:12“LORD, thou wilt ordain peace for us: for thou also hast wrought all our works in us.”

The Joy of The Most High is my Strength

Nehemiah 8:10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

When we are facing trials of our faith, trying to cling to joy seems like the farthest thing from our sensibilities. Being contrary to the ways of this world, and the thought process that goes with it, is a foundational concept to following The Most High. This world is corrupted and under sin. You must have an opposing way of doing things in order to follow Him. Facing trials and tests with Joy knowing that it is about refinement and growth is how you take joy in something that is hard and stressful.  When you think of the people who have accomplished great things they were NEVER the ones who stood with the crowd or went with the flow. Most often their lives looked COMPLETELY different then the lives of those around them.
~Greatness requires diligence, discipline, commitment, and fortitude. Often you must find great passion and love in the end goal. The process will require sacrifice and commitment. That is why it is so important to focus on where you are trying to get to.
~Fall in Love with The Father , His Son, and The Holy Spirit.~

~Search and seek out the path to  His glorious kingdom that is yet to come. ~
~Commit yourself to the process.~

Know that there are no accidents or mistakes with the Father only errors in judgement or misunderstanding on our part. If you find yourself out from the Fathers protection then make the necessary adjustments and return to the search for truth and the ancient paths that lead to the kingdom!

1 Peter 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
Psalms 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Psalms 5:11 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

Romans 5:8 - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Ecclesiasticus 1:12 The fear of the Lord maketh a merry heart, and giveth joy, and gladness, and a long life.

Lamentations 3:21This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. 22It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. 24The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. 25The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

Psalms 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Psalms 126:5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

Ecclesiasticus 28:2 Forgive thy neighbour the hurt that he hath done unto thee, so shall thy sins also be forgiven when thou prayest.

Psalms 90:14 - O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

Psalms 5:3 - My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct [my prayer] unto thee, and will look up.

Are you dressed and ready?

Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Are you dressed and ready for the Lord's return do you have your garments washed clean are you prepared?

Luke 12:40“Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.”

People who are dressed and ready are:

Not Hypocrites-One who puts on a mask and feigns himself to be what he is not; a dissembler in religion. Our Lord severely rebuked the scribes "and Pharisees for their hypocrisy (Matt. 6:2, 5, 16). "The" "hypocrite's hope shall perish" (Job 8:13). The Hebrew word here" "rendered "hypocrite" rather means the "godless" or "profane," as" "it is rendered in Jer. 23:11, i.e., polluted with crimes."

Job 8:13 So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish:
Job 13:16 He also shall be my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him.
Matthew 24:51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Not fearful -

Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Ecclesiasticus 2:12Woe be to fearful hearts, and faint hands, and the sinner that goeth two ways!

Not worried
Proverbs 12:25 - Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad
1 Peter 5:6-7 - Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

Not greedy
Luke 12:15 - And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
Proverbs 15:27 - He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.

Not Lazy-
Proverbs 12:24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.
Proverbs 21:25 The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.

You must watch and work diligently and be obedient. Overcoming worry is done through trust perspective and prayer. A prepared person is ready to go at a moments notice. Are you ready to move in obedience now? Or do you have cares of this life to attend to first? Are you clothed and ready?

Hebrews 6:12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Isaiah 35:4 Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.
Psalms 132:9 Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.
Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
1 Peter 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

Blunt or truthful vs critical

blunt

saying what you think without trying to be polite or caring about other people’s feelings:

blunt criticism

 https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/blunt

Romans 2:1-3 ESV Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things. We know that the judgment of God rightly falls on those who practice such things. Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God?

Matthew 7:1-5 ESV“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

Ephesians 4:32 ESV Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Philippians 2:13 ESV For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

1 John 2:15 ESV Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

The world tells us that the truth is harsh and blunt. That it will attack you and make you feel bad. That isn't the Truth. The truth is, that when a person is trying to tell you something for your own good, out of love, it might hurt but their motives will shine through. So many people pride themselves on being blunt thinking that is the only way to be truthful. You can be honest and truthful with a person without being blunt.  Honesty will be appreciated, bluntness may just drive them away.

Romans 7:18 ESV For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out.

Galatians 5:22-23 ESV But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Galatians 5:16 ESV But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

John 15:5 ESV I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

 https://biblicalcounselingcoalition.org/2014/10/16/overcoming-a-critical-spirit/
Do you criticize and pass judgment on others? Do you find yourself with a negative disposition, always finding fault with something or someone? Is it difficult for you to see the positive in a person or a situation because the negative is so glaring in your eye? Are you compelled to give your critical point of view for the good of all mankind?
If you answered yes to one of these questions, then you have a critical spirit and you are in danger. Not getting hit-by-a-truck-kind-of-danger, but an even more serious kind—and that is spiritual danger. A critical spirit is from the dark side. It is meant to hurt and destroy its object.
A critical spirit is a negative attitude of the heart that seeks to condemn, tear down, and destroy with words. In contrast, constructive criticism involves opinions that are meant to build up. A critical spirit creates blind spots in a person’s heart and mind causing them to believe they are being constructive. In reality, it is characterized as the ungodly.

4 Types of Critical Spirits

1. Gossiper

A gossiper is one who reveals secrets going about as a talebearer or scandal-monger. She has privileged information about people and proceeds to reveal that information to others with sinful motives without their knowledge or approval. Gossipers attempt to make themselves significant to the hearer by appearing to be the source of all knowledge.
The Bible’s Perspective
1 Timothy 5:13—“At the same time they also learn to be idle, as they go around from house to house; and not merely idle, but also gossips and busybodies, talking about things not proper to mention.”
Proverbs 11:13—“He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets, but he who is trustworthy conceals a matter.”
Proverbs 20:19—“He who goes about as a slanderer reveals secrets, therefore do not associate with a gossip.”

2. Slanderer

A slanderer is a person who makes false statements in order to damage a person’s reputation. She does not care about the truth or correcting an error. A slanderer creates error in order to inflict harm.
The Bible’s Perspective
Proverbs 10:18—“He who conceals hatred has lying lips, and he who spreads slander is a fool.”
Proverbs 16:28—“A perverse man spreads strife, and a slanderer separates intimate friends.”
1 Peter 2:1—“Therefore, putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.”

3. Judgmentalism

A judgmental person has an excessively critical point of view, characterized by a tendency to judge harshly. She lacks empathy for others’ viewpoint because she believes her point of view is the right one. She believes she has the ability to know others’ motives. She has the amazing skill to point out others’ mistakes while minimizing her own.
The Bible’s Perspective
Matthew 7:1-2—“Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.”
James 2:13—“For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.”

4. Complainer

A complainer is a person who is habitually negative about others and circumstances of life. They are characterized by discontentment and ingratitude.
The Bible’s Perspective
James 5:9—“Do not complain, brethren, against one another, so that you yourselves may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing right at the door.”
Philippians 2:14—“Do all things without grumbling or disputing.”

The Motives Behind a Critical Spirit

A critical spirit comes from within the heart of a person. Mark 7 tells us that sins such as evil thoughts, coveting, deceit, envy, and slander proceed from within a person. There are several factors that contribute to the development of a critical spirit.

1. Self-Factor

This includes jealousy or envy, vengeance, anger, hatred, and holding grudges for the purpose of personal gain by destroying the other person.

2. Fear-Factor

This involves feeling threatened by someone or feeling anxiety toward someone which produces a critical spirit as a way of self-protection.

3. Control-Factor

This is feeling out of control and using manipulation and shaming someone in order to gain control.

The Effects of a Critical Spirit

The effects of a critical spirit are damaging. In Matthew 22:37 and 39, God commands us to love Him with all of our hearts, with all our minds, and with all our souls and to love our neighbor as we already love ourselves. Harboring a critical disposition closes off our hearts, minds, and souls to loving God in any way. Our fellowship with the Lord is hindered. We will stop spending time with Him in reading the Bible and praying. We will avoid seeking wisdom from the Lord. As a result, our spiritual life will be put on the shelf.
A critical spirit displeases God and causes Him to judge that sin. Luke 6:37 says, “Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned.” God warns us in Matthew 7:2 that we will be judged the same way we judge others.
A critical spirit in action is the opposite of loving your neighbor as yourself. Relationships are broken when there’s gossip, slander, judgment, and slander. When we are critical toward others, we put ourselves in an authoritative position over them. This isolates a critical person from fellowship with others. People tend to separate themselves from harsh and critical authority.

Overcoming a Critical Spirit

Overcoming a critical spirit can be difficult because it develops into a life-dominating sin. It becomes a way of life. The way to rid ourselves of a critical heart is to put on love instead of hate, to build up instead of tearing down and to give grace instead of grief.

Love Instead of Hate

As stated before, God commands us to love Him and to love others. The simplest way to view this is to stop feeding the flesh and start feeding the spirit. The Bible is chalked full of all things we are to put off and all things we are to put on. 1 Peter 2 tells us to put off malice, envy, and slander and to pursue the pure milk of the word. We are to stop returning evil for evil or insult for insult but to give a blessing instead (1 Peter 3:9).

Building Up Instead of Tearing Down

A critical spirit naturally tears down, but as believers, we are called to edify others. In Romans, the apostle Paul instructs us on how to build up others. We are to focus on pleasing our neighbor (15:2) and pursuing things which make for peace (14:19). A person with a critical spirit must be renewed in the spirit of her mind as she seeks to do all things for edification (1 Corinthians 14:26).

Giving Grace Instead of Giving Grief

As believers, our words and our lives are to reflect God’s grace. We are to give grace to others instead of the grief that comes from a critical spirit. Ephesians 4:29 says, “Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment so that it will give grace to those who hear.”
Our words are to be encouraging, uplifting and instructive even when it is corrective. We are to be “kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you” (Ephesians 4:32).
Christians have no business possessing a critical spirit. We have not been given authority over the hearts of others. We know we have overcome a critical spirit when we are characterized by a forgiving spirit because we have been forgiven by God.

His Plan or Your Way?

Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Don't allow Satan to steal your FAITH!!!! You were put here for a purpose. You were born into this earth with a gift. Maybe you have allowed the cares of this life or distractions of this world to make you forget what that gift is. Its time to clear away the clutter and get back to the basics! When David had already been anointed king over Israel he was still in the sheep folds practicing his harp. He didn't yet look like a king but was doing the training necessary to rule.   He was positioned and ready to receive instruction.

Ecclesiastes 3:1
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

Isaiah 14:24“The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand

Romans 8:28“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Romans 12:1-21 - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service.

2 Timothy 1:9“Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,”

Proverbs 30:5 - Every word of God [is] pure: he [is] a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

2 Timothy 1:9 - Who hath saved us, and called [us] with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Psalms 90:12 - So teach [us] to number our days, that we may apply [our] hearts unto wisdom.

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Isaiah 43:16 - Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;

Mark 11:24 - Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive [them], and ye shall have [them].

Love remains

1 Corinthians 13:8 New King James Version (NKJV)Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.

13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Real true love is not deserved by the one its shown to. It cannot be earned nor is it something that can be lost.  Love is not about what they can do for you or how they make you feel. Love is about  how can you help that person to become their personal best. I find it interesting the older translations call it Charity not Love..  Charity is often thought of as you giving someone something they were unable to provide for themselves.

Charity-kindness and tolerance in judging others.

"she found it hard to look on her mother with much charity"

synonyms:goodwill, compassion, consideration, concern, kindness, kindheartedness, tenderness, tenderheartedness, sympathy, indulgence, tolerance, leniency, caritas;
literarybounteousness

"show a bit of charity"

archaic-love of humankind, typically in a Christian context. "faith, hope, and charity"

1 Timothy 1:5“Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:"

1 Corinthians 14:1 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy. 1 Corinthians 16:14 Let all your things be done with charity. Colossians 3:14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. 2 Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 2 Timothy 3:10  But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, Titus 2:2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. 1 Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
1 John 4:7-8 - Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.   (Read More...)

1 John 4:16 - And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
1 John 5:2 - By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

John 15:13 - Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

1 John 3:16 - Hereby perceive we the love [of God], because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down [our] lives for the brethren.

1 John 3:18 - My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

Showing another love will at times require you to give more of yourself then you will ever receive back. That is why being connected to the source of all things and filling your cup daily through Him and the Ruach is the only way to  continue to show love no matter the challenges you are facing personally.
