Slacking on commitments???

Psalms 37:5“Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. 6And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.”

Have you ever made a commitment that then became almost impossible to keep?? Its times like that in your life when you have to ask did you count the cost before you committed? You don't want to become a liar or to be a slacker but it seems you hit a road block that you just can't get around??

Luke 14:27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. 28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? 29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, 30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.

Proverbs 16:3“Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.”

As followers of Christ it is so very important for us to keep the commitments we have made and to know how to set boundaries and find the balance to not become over-committed and overwhelmed. We serve a God of order. He knows how to get everything done that needs to be done correctly and with excellence. When you have made a commitment that is part of your ministry expect opposition. Expect the enemy to bring other tasks, people, and things to try to tie up your time so that you will become unreliable. As we finish off this week and look towards the next understand that if you have made a commitment you should stick to it! Ask the Father for the wisdom and strength to know which commitments to make and which to avoid that you can be the most useful in this kingdom work and effective for Him.
