Food for Thought

Philippians 3:19 “Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)”

Messiah survived 40 days and 40 nights fasting. He wasn't the only one. Can you even fathom that?? Judith lived a fasting lifestyle. We are so inundated every day with breakfast lunch dinner snack food food food FOOD! Taught that if we don't eat three full meals a day there is something wrong.  What if we change our perspective on food?? So many health coaches talk about viewing food as fuel. What is more important physical fuel or Spiritual fuel???What if you viewed getting scripture and wisdom from the Father as more important then food. What if you viewed it as the only time you are REALLY being fed is when you are receiving spiritually. Wouldn't you take it more seriously??

How do you behave when your hungry??? Do you suffer from Hanger??  How is your behavior when you are hungry or tired or overwhelmed? Are you still a light? Do you conduct yourself in a manner that the Father would be proud of?? What about with what is coming??? How will you behave when things are scarce? Do you have enough self control to conduct yourself appropriately even when you don't have the basic necessities?? Have you practiced fasting so that it is another tool in your arsenal against the enemy? Its been said that the armies of this world have trained so thoroughly that they can go 40 hours without food or sleep and still complete their mission. Can you go 24 hours and complete your mission?

Matthew 6:16-1816 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
