Ecclesiasticus 20:2“It is much better to reprove, than to be angry secretly: and he that confesseth his fault shall be preserved from hurt.”
Ecclesiasticus 22:6“A tale out of season is as musick in mourning: but stripes and correction of wisdom are never out of time.”
Many times correction comes after a drastic situation or because of something that was potentially dangerous. What about making corrections to our everyday life. There is a quote I like by Thomas Moore " The ordinary arts we practice at home are of more importance to the soul then their simplicity might suggest." It is about the things we do everyday. Leaving your dirty clothes on the floor or washing the dishes right away. Correcting a bad habit or a way of doing things that when looked at over time is not bringing us the results that matter. A wise person looks at a word of correction , no matter the source, and considers it. Evaluates whether or not it will bring about a positive change in their life. Words have power. They can create or destroy. Words from the Holy Scriptures can do nothing but bring positive change IF you apply them.
If you are finding yourself in a place where you are receiving correction, heed it. Listen to the person providing the correction. If they didn't care they wouldn't say a word. Complaining about a situation or staying stuck cannot be an option for a follower of Christ. He came to lead us into relationship with the Creator of Everything! If you feel stuck look to the scriptures. Find a person trustworthy and learned in the scriptures to help you. Know that the fear of The Most high is the beginning of wisdom, and will bring understanding to every aspect of your life.
