"People will often give you an opportunity to be gracious." Miles Gilbert
Those are the words that we all want to hear. Do any of us truly have an understanding of what servant-hood actually means??? Real talk. Being a servant is the last thing any person wants to do. Letting another person"have it easy" while you do the work. Watching them achieve their goals and have time for rest while it seems your job is never done....... Doing something that isn't your job , or responsibility for that matter. That's not fair! That's not right! That's not equal! That's what your flesh says. It takes a lot to put aside your thoughts, feelings, tasks, time, and energy for another person. To not do what you had planned but to allow their needs to control your schedule. Without love in your heart this very easily creates resentment. Whether on the side of the person who needed the help or on the side of the person being asked to help.
Love doesn't allow resentment to reside.
Gal 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
As believers we are called to love those in the faith. Called to help and serve one another. Called to keep the commitments that we have made to one another. When you are filled with the love of Christ you look for opportunities to serve others. Especially those walking in Truth, fighting to keep the laws of the Most High and walk upright before The Most High. The beautiful part is once you subdue your flesh and bring it into obedience to the Holy Spirit, the Father will give you Grace and joy, energy and zeal to serve. It will become easy and natural. Not that Satan won't continue to try your flesh, but when you see the Father's rewards for your obedience to his voice you have less and less trouble calling your flesh into submission. The Scripture is our most powerful tool in fighting our flesh and the temptation that Satan brings us to be selfish or believe that our needs are more important then another persons.
What does The Most High have to say about it????
Phill 2:5-7 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
1 Cor 13
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
Matt 23:11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
Mk10:43-44, Matt 20:26
If Ministry was easy then you wouldn't need to be chosen for it. It is only after you have been refined in the fire and proven that the Father can trust you will he allow you to minister truth to others. It is when you are willing to put down your own thoughts on the matter and your opinion and stick with scripture that you will be able to effectively minister to others. Many people think that they know enough to minister to others but still have to much pride and their opinion can get in the way of what the Father is really trying to do.
Ps15:2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
Christ said we must come to him as little children. If you have spent any time with little children you know that when they are sure of something they speak with confidence and can show you why they know, but they are also willing to admit if they don't know. Not knowing something doesn't make you ignorant, speaking wrong out of pride is what makes you look ignorant.
The Most High is building an army. (Eze 37) An army that will follow Him wholeheartedly. How I ask can you truly be a servant of The creator when your rebellious nature causes you to have resentment, anger, and frustration toward another servant? Are you truly walking in the spirit?? Are you behaving as a servant?? When you have to be patient ( a fruit of the spirit) when they need to figure it out already?? long suffering ( a fruit of the spirit) patient endurance without complaint, loving ( a fruit of the spirit) even when they don't deserve it??, joyful ( a fruit of the spirit) even when things are frustrating you??, peaceful ( a fruit of the spirit) even when you feel like fighting??, kind ( a fruit of the spirit) even when they don't deserve kindness ??, good , and have SELF CONTROL ( a fruit of the spirit)??.
