The Marathon of Life with Christ

                                                        Image result for hebrew olympics
As so many had their eyes on the Olympics that just passed and wondering who would win , my thoughts turned to the amount of discipline and training it took for those people to get to that point.  I couldn't help but reflect on Hebrews 12:1  ¶Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3  For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
4  ¶Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

Luke 22:44  And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

We look at these verses and think of those who have gone before us. Those who fought the good fight and persevered through various persecutions and trials and made it to paradise to cheer us on.Any goal worth working for is worth making the commitment of time, energy, finances, and sacrifice to.  The goal of the highest prize of citizenship in the kingdom Of The Most High is WORTH it!!! What does your life show that you are committed to??

When you train for a marathon you make a commitment. You must train for months or even years, stay hydrated, eat the proper foods, and learn to pace yourself. If you start to quickly you will burn out quickly. You must set goals, find a steady pace, and Maintain. And thats just in order to compete not to win.

1 Corinthians 9:24  ¶Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
25  And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
26  I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
27  But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway
Endurance is the word that drives me. Its not about moving the fastest or beating someone else to the knowledge but being able to stand firm on the truths found in the word and every ready to seek new wisdom and lessons while passing time on this earth.

John 16 and 17 the words of our messiah are there to encourage us.
