Unleavened Bread

Such a powerful metaphor. even though it only occurs once a year for eight days it is a practice we need put in place year round. No leaven all year you say? No that is not what I am saying. What I am saying is that the time effort and energy that you have put into checking products to see if they contain leaven needs to be put into your daily life examining your thoughts, actions, and deeds.

James 1:14But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. 16Do not err, my beloved brethren.

7Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? 8This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you. 9A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

Disobedience is equated with leaven.  Taking the time to really examine your own thoughts, words, & deeds is a process that takes time, effort & dedication.  So often we hear a lesson and think of people in our lives it could apply to. Well, I' m here to tell you if you are hearing, reading, or watching a lesson it is for you first. Nothing just happens.

1 Corinthians 5:6Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? 7Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 8Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 9I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: 10Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
