Pride is Idolatry

Simple Definition of pride

• : a feeling that you respect yourself and deserve to be respected by other people
• : a feeling that you are more important or better than other people

Ecclesiasticus 10:18“Pride was not made for men, nor furious anger for them that are born of a woman.” ¹⁹ They that fear the Lord are a sure seed, and they that love him an honourable plant: they that regard not the law are a dishonourable seed; they that transgress the commandments are a deceivable seed.

Ecclesiasticus 10:7“Pride is hateful before God and man: and by both doth one commit iniquity.” 

 

Pride is a tool the enemy has been using against mankind since the very beginning. It is a sneaky devil that will get you to put your will and your thoughts above everything else. Pride will not allow you to take wise council, it will not allow you to admit you are wrong.  Think back on this journey you have been on......where would you be if you had never admitted you were wrong.  So now you must ask yourself what other areas of your life has the enemy tricked you into being prideful so that you wouldn't deal in truth and be made free???

  Proverbs 29:23“A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.”

   Ecclesiasticus 26:26“A woman that honoureth her husband shall be judged wise of all; but she that dishonoureth him in her pride shall be counted ungodly of all.”
