Pray lest you enter into Temptation

" Free Cheese is always available on Mouse traps."
Think of that. In Luke 22:40 Christ advised his disciples to, "Pray that ye enter not into temptation."  We find the same advice in Mark 14:38 and Matt 26:41. In both of those passages Christ tells them the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. In Hebrew the word for temptation means despair, test, proving, or trial. James 1:14 tells us "But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed."  It is our lusts in our flesh that cause us to be tempted.

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

 What are your temptations? Food? Drink? Drugs? People? Money?Movies?Books? Shopping? Gaming?  Test yourself, be truthful, find your weaknesses so that you will be able to pray and avoid temptation and the enemy will have nothing to use against you.

Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

 Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
